Zidorette produced a perfect filly Campari Z in 2010. Calato Z, after an absence of 12 years, the Holsteiner stallion Calato Z has returned to Studfarm Zangersheide. With good reason, too, for the now 22-yr-old stallion has proved to be one of the best sons of Capitol I in breeding. And from his dam’s side he has inherited excellent genes, with Landgraf I, Calypso I, Rigoletto and lineage 474a. Calato Z himself performed in the international showjumping sport under the Danish Jennifer Fogh Petersen and he was, amongst other achievements, winner of the Danish championships for Young Riders. But Calato’s offspring is even better.

His son Cöster was the 2003 winner of the European title, ridden by Christian Ahlmann. In addition, Calato is sire of the internationals Index (Hauke Luther), Corinessa (Hubert Bourdy), Callistro (Janne-Fredrike Meyer), Graziana (Toni Hassmann) and Chapman Rouge (Andre Americo de Miranda). In 2007 the breeding qualities of Calato were further confirmed during the CHIO in Aachen where two of his sons finished among the best five in the Grand Prix. We can therefore confidently call Calato not only a true progenitor but also a founder of maternal lineages. The international showjumping horses Commissario (Cash) ridden by Julien Epaillard, Chupa Chup (Caretino) ridden by Bernardo Alves and Karatina (Quantum) ridden by Pénélope Leprévost are all bred out of a daughter by Calato Z.
