Andres Alvarez joined Hyperion Stud in 2022 as the rider for our US based operation.

Involved in horses from a very young age by his father, an army cavalry officer, Andres was introduced  to the equestrian world at the early age of 5 years old. At the age of 18 he had the opportunity to jump his first Grand Prix,  and then went on to win a bronze medal at the 2002 Young Riders National Championships.

In 2005 Andres bought a mare called Touch with whom he jumped the grand prix divisions, and then won a silver medal at the 2005 National Adult Championships.

After continued success on the South American circuit, Andres joined the Ecuadorian Team with his horse, Cash Z, at the South American Games which secured him a spot with the Team for the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada.

Andres has made his home in the US with his beautiful family, and continues to train and compete up to the Grand Prix level.
