Approved stallion by Calippo
The international show jumping stallion Vittorio is the answer to the question how we can breed blood into a show jumping pedigree. His appearance betrays his pedigree with a high proportion of thoroughbred blood. The beautiful stallion is also appealing because of his reflexes and carefulness on the fences and top class movements.
Vittorio’s sire is the talented stallion Calippo, who went to the U.S. in 2004 and competed at the highest level with Margie Engle Goldstein. Grandfather Concerto II is ranked 4th on the German jumping stallions ranking with an index of 156 and 93% accuracy. Calippo’s mother descends from Cascavelle (by Cantus), who sired the KWPN approved Grand Prix stallion Casco.
Vittorio has been bred out of the half thoroughbred mare Ma Belle and this makes his pedigree even more exclusive. She descends from the thoroughbred stallion Martel xx, who jumped internationally under Emile Hendrix and was available for the Dutch breeding for some years. Through grandmother Beauty I, we find Latus II (by Landgraf I), Cantares (by Cor de Bryère) and Raimond (by Ramzes x) in the dam-line.
Vittorio was very successful at the 2006 KWPN Stallion Selection. Three of his sons were selected for the 2011 Dutch Sport Horse Sale and were sold for no less than 86.000, 35.000 and 31.000 euros.
Vittorio produced Fandango HX, the reserve champion during the KWPN Stallion Show in ‘s-Hertogenbosch in 2013. Fandango HX is sold to America. The most well-know son of Vittorio is Don Diablo HX. This stallion, ridden by Pieter Keunen, won the finals of the stallion competition in 2013 and became second in 2014 during the KWPN Stallion Competition in ‘s-Hertogenbosch.
