Taizo Sugitani is a 6 time Olympian, competed at 6 World Championships and 2 World Cup Finals for Team Japan. We are honored to be working with Taizo and look forward to a long lasting and successful relationship.
Vicky Castegren - Owner/ Agent
Vicky Castegren began riding a the age of 9 at a summer camp in Vermont called Camp Farwell. The many years spent there during summer vacations fueld her desire to be with horses. She eventually went on to Stoneleigh Burnham School in Greenfield, MA for her high school education and this is where she truely began her riding career. While at SBS she also spent several summers riding in Sweden, and got her first taste of the Internationl horse scene. Vicky then went onto college where she bought her first show jumper named “Over the Top”, who still resides at her farm today. She grauated from Averett Unversity with a BS in Business Management in 1999, and shortly after graduating came to her first farm in Gordonsville, Virginia.
From 2000 – 2007 Vicky spent her time riding, competing and selling horses as an amateur, and in 2005 reached a goal of competing Internationally. She spent 8 weeks competing in France with her trainer, Olympian Peter Leone. After many years in the saddle she took time off to start a family, and gained a whole new persepctive on horses. In 2009, Vicky bought what is now Hyperion Farm in Barboursville, Virignia. This new venture has grown at a rapid pace, and Vicky works very hard to keep the standard above the bar.
Hyperion Stud now breeds, trains and sells sport horses while also offering superior stallion services. This multi faceted business has taken off, and is quickly becoming the top breeding farm in the US! Vicky’s proudest horse moments to date include the multiple wins from her 8 year old stallion Chin Quidam VDL at venues such as Aachen, Germany and Dublin, Irleand as well as being present at the 2014 World Equestrian Games to see her phenomenal stallion Imothep finish 12th in the World. In 2016, Hyperion’s stallion Imothep also competed at the Olympic Games in Rio under rider Taizo Sugitani of Japan. She welcomes you to become part of the family, and be a part of a positive movement in the breeding and development of young horses in the USA.
Todd Brissette - Farm Manager
Todd P Brissette has over 30 years of experience in the equine industry to include the management of several large equine operations. Todd has extensive experience in showing and breeding, including A.I., freezing, and shipping. He is a licensed veterinary technician, and has worked with some of the top veterinarians on the east coast. In his spare time he enjoys riding his motorcycle and spending time with his beautiful wife.
Laura Krohn- Breeding Specialist
Laura D Krohn graduated from Virginia Tech with Bachelors in Animal & Poultry Science in 2009. She has been riding & working with horses since they age of 8. It was at Va Tech that she began her focus in Equine breeding. “I especially enjoy mare & foal management and watching our youngsters grow up and develop into competition horses.” She came to Hyperion Stud in June 2010 and has been an integral part in the growth of the breeding program.
Aubrie Shaner - Office Manager / Public Relations
Aubrie Shaner Morris has been with Hyperion since before inception. Her tenure dates back to 2008 when Hyperion was a glimmer of the near future. She has been a constitutive part in Hyperion’s foundation. Savannah, GA is home and her background is in Real Estate Appraisal and Interior Design. “I am proud to share in the success and future of Hyperion and what we bring to the American market. We are honored with the ability to influence all aspects of the industry from breeding and stallion management, through young horse development and to top ranks in the ring. Our horses speak for themselves. ” In her spare time she enjoys filling her pilot log, dancing, and spending quality time with her daughter Natalie

Nicky Galligan - Rider
Irishman, Nicky Galligan was practically born in the saddle and rode from a very early age. At 7 he experienced his first full season of Hunting in Ireland and since has never been out of the saddle. He is a supremely motivated horseman with a strong vision, an abundance of enthusiasm and exemplary work ethics. He has experienced a broad range of disciplines from breaking youngsters, hunting, racehorse training, eventing, show jumping and ran his own show jumping barn in Ireland prior to coming to Hyperion. Nicky has a mature and responsible approach to training all levels of show jumpers. He is calm, patient and understanding with his horses and these horses trust him implicitly.

Kelsey Hile - Equine Care Specialist
Kelsey Hile is originally from south central Pennsylvania and is a 2013 graduate of Penn State where she earned her Animal Sciences degree with an Equine minor. She started riding at the age of eight and acquired her first horse at thirteen. From there she competed in low level dressage. At seventeen she was privileged to own and show a Dutch Warmblood gelding whom she competed up through third level dressage, while venturing into low level eventing with her first horse. Throughout college Kelsey found that her passion was in the breeding aspect and during the summer of 2012 she took an internship at a Cleveland Bay farm in St. Thomas, Pennsylvania. In her spare time, Kelsey enjoys riding her motorcycle, spending time with her mare, Ginger, her two ferrets Roxi and Rylie, and learning about automotive mechanics.
Vicki Morrison- Equine Care Specialist
Vicki Morrison graduated in May of 2014 from Virginia Tech with a degree in Animal and Poultry Science. Vicki has worked with horses since the age of 8, but it was in college that she took a serious interest in them. During her time at Virginia Tech, Vicki worked at VT’s Smithfield Horse Center and went for a semester long intensive internship at Virginia Tech’s MARE center. Vicki was also involved in several extracurricular activities such as the Block and Bridle club at Virginia Tech, and the Equestrian Club. Vicki rode on the IHSA hunter team at Virginia Tech all four years. Her senior year she served as Captain of the hunter team, and was a part of the team that helped one of Virginia Tech’s riders become 2014 IHSA National Champion. In her spare time, Vicki enjoys riding, exploring Charlottesville with her dog, traveling and following Philadelphia sports.
